Medical Mission Institute Würzburg

The Medical Mission Institute is the Catholic Advisory Organisation for International Health, seated in Germany. The organisation, which was founded by the Conference of Major Religious Superiors in 1922 as an initiative of Christian laymen, offers training to medical specialists for their work in tropical countries, mainly in Africa. In addition, the Institute renders advice and support worldwide to church health services and project partners as well as church-affiliated development and relief organisations such as Misereor, Caritas international or missio.

The Institute’s staff membersand volunteers strive for the improvement of health in our world and dedicate themselves to the worldwide healing mission of the Catholic Church. We have numerous members working in health projects all over the globe.

In fighting worldwide poverty, millions of people must be afforded an opportunity to improve their health. The Medical Mission Institute wants to make its contribution under the theme “We invest in people”.
